Nicole Larocque as Superintendent of Education 

 

 

Windsor, April 8, 2024 - The Conseil scolaire catholique Providence (Csc Providence) is pleased to announce the appointment of Nicole Larocque as Superintendent of Education.

 

Mrs. Larocque has nearly 25 years of experience in the education sector, all with the Conseil scolaire catholique Providence, including more than 15 years as a school leader. She has been a principal since 2009, and over the years has assumed responsibility for a number of projects, including training new teachers and professional development for principals and vice-principals. Throughout her career, Mrs. Larocque has worked with various stakeholders in the education sector, at both regional and provincial levels, in the development and implementation of numerous initiatives to ensure the best academic performance for students.

 

Mrs. Larocque herself completed her elementary and secondary education in French-language Catholic schools of the Csc Providence. She also graduated from grade 12 at École secondaire catholique l'Essor in Tecumseh.

 

In terms of education, Mrs. Larocque holds a Bachelor of Arts with major in French Literature and a Master of Education in Teaching and Learning, both from the University of Windsor.

 

"Nicole Larocque has an excellent pedagogical background, unparalleled leadership skills and a deep conviction in the development and success of every student. She has also demonstrated excellent skills in supporting the smooth running of the schools. We are confident that Mrs. Larocque will rise to the challenges ahead," said Carolyn Bastien, Director of Education of the Conseil scolaire catholique Providence.

 

In her new role, Mrs. Larocque will oversee the implementation of the kindergarten to Grade 6 Student Success Plan, along with school supervision. Additionally, as a system leader in mathematics, she will be responsible for implementing the Action Plan for Success in Mathematics.

 

She will assume the position of Superintendent of Education starting on April 29, 2024.

 

The Conseil scolaire catholique Providence provides education to nearly 9,500 students across 23 elementary schools and 8 secondary schools. In addition to having the highest graduation rate in Southwestern Ontario (97%) among all French and English school boards, Csc Providence offers programs aimed at the success of all students, an education based on Catholic values, high-quality French and a bilingualism certificate.
