Jean Blanchette, new business superintendant for the Conseil scolaire catholique Providence

Windsor, Thursday, February 15, 2024 — Director of Education Carolyn Bastien is pleased to announce Jean Blanchette’s appointment as Superintendent of Business for the Conseil scolaire catholique Providence (Csc Providence).

Jean Blanchette is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada) and holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Laval University, a supervisory officer certificate from Ontario’s Ministry of Education, and a diploma in school board administration from the University of Guelph. He will be acting as a lever in the multiple capital asset, IT and finance projects at Csc Providence. His qualities as a strategist, analyst and manager are definitely assets for the Board’s large family.

Mr. Blanchette has nearly 25 years’ experience in both education and business. He initially worked as a financial controller in the private sector, where he brought his expertise to various companies. In 2015, Mr. Blanchette joined the Csc Providence team as Director of Material Resources, enriching the organization with his vast experience. As head of the Capital Assets Department, he skillfully managed an annual budget of $15M, demonstrating his financial management and strategic planning abilities.

Mr. Blanchette's active engagement with youth and the French-speaking community, earning him the Volunteer of the Year Award, also highlights his exceptional dedication. His proven ability to effectively advise and support individuals in achieving their organizational goals makes him a valuable asset in his new role.

Jean Blanchette will begin in his new role on February 20.

The Conseil scolaire catholique Providence provides education to nearly 9,500 students in 23 elementary schools and 8 secondary schools. In addition to having the highest graduation rate (97.9%) in all Ontario’s French and English school boards, Csc Providence offers programs geared towards individual student success, an education based on Catholic values, high-quality French teaching methods as well as a comprehensive bilingualism certificate.
