Introduction

The Conseil scolaire catholique Providence (Board) is undertaking the Municipality of Chatham-Kent French Language Catholic Schools Program and Boundary Study. 

This Boundary Review will focus on the Board’s five (5) schools within the Chatham-Kent municipality including one secondary school and four (4) elementary schools.

  • École élémentaire catholique Sainte-Catherine – Pain Court
  • École élémentaire catholique Sainte-Marie- Chatham
  • École secondaire catholique de Pain Court – Pain Court

The purpose and rationale to conduct a boundary review for the Chatham- Kent schools is as follows:

1. The parents at école élémentaire catholique Sainte-Marie have communicated at different times in the past that they have concerns related to their children coming from Sainte-Marie having to transition to a new school twice; once, to Sainte-Catherine for 7-8, and a second time to École secondaire de Pain Court in grade 9.

2. Through the examination of planning and student projection data, the attendance area(s) study will strive to ensure effective long-term utilization of the schools.

3. The educational program delivery model at the schools in the Attendance Area(s) Study will address the parent concerns and ensure alignment in the Board’s standard delivery model of grades K-6 and grades 7-12.

The proposed timeline for the Chatham-Kent Boundary Review will follow the administrative procedure timeline and is expected to be completed by early this spring with the submission of the Final Report to the Board of Trustees. Please see the calendar below for key dates.
